Calcasieu Republican Parish
The Parish Executive Committee (“The PEC”) consists of 20 members, one elected from each of the 15 police jury districts and five elected at-large from all of the police jury districts. If no candidate is elected from a district, the PEC may appoint someone to represent that district. The PEC is funded by a portion of the fees paid by candidates when they register with the Clerk of Court to run for office under the Republican label, as well as personal donations and PEC fundraising activities.
Activities of the PECThe PEC provides resources and training for candidates seeking public office as Republicans and holds voter registration drives. The SWLA Republican Roundtable is a committee of the PEC; it holds monthly meetings with speakers and commentary, and sponsors special events such as the Presidents Day Dinner, candidate forums, and candidate “meet and greets.” The PEC also provides assistance and guidance to the Teenage Republicans (TARS), the Young Republicans, the McNeese College Republicans, and works closely with the Republican Women of Calcasieu Parish.
