March 20, 2021 election
​The next election (primaries) for Calcasieu Parish is March 20, 2021.  Some precinct locations have changed. If you are unsure of your location, go to SEARCH BY VOTER on Secretary of State Geaux Vote site.

Early voting is March 6 – March 16. Early voting locations are Lake Charles Civic Center, Parish Library in Moss Bluff, and Sulfur Law Enforcement Building. You may vote at any early voting location regardless of your precinct location.  Last date to request a mail in ballot is March 16. It must be received by registrar of voters by March 19.

​What's On the Ballot...
​For the March 20, 2021 election, twelve Republicans in Calcasieu Parish have qualified for the 11 positions. Positions to be elected are mayors of Vinton and Lake Charles, city councilmen of Lake Charles and Vinton, and Vinton chief of police.
  • Republican Lake Charles mayor Nic Hunter is running against 3 Democrats*.
  • Republican mayor of Vinton Marcus Renfrow is unopposed.
  • Republican candidate Scott Spell is unopposed for police chief of Vinton.
  • Republican city councilman John Ieyoub is running against 2 Democrats in District D.
  • Republican Stuart Weatherford is unopposed in the city council District E.
  • Republicans Mark Eckard and Kalid Taha are in a race in District G.
  • In the Vinton town council election where 5 are to be elected, Republicans

David Cambre, Diane Conner, Lindsey Stanley, and Mike Wright are in a race with 2 Democrats and an Independent.
Run off elections are April 24, 2021.
